Charity Meet 2015

Whitsun 22nd – 31st May

Kineton Sports and Social Club

Friday 22nd May - From 10am a steady stream of visitors arrived and

set up for the weekend ahead. Several took advantage of the “Film Night” in the Club House, whilst others relaxed with a drink in the bar or BBQ 'd and settled in their units.

Saturday 23rd May - from 10 am plenty of awnings were set up with their wares to sell,

and it was a great chance to walk around and meet with new and old friends and acquaintances.

There were some unusual visitors on site, take a look at the Gallery of photographs to see.

Saturday evening from 7.30pm we danced away to the brilliant sounds of “Transition”,

Raffle tickets were on sale and some bottle auctions took place.

Everyone said what a wonderful time they had.

Sunday 24th May 11am  we opened Our Charity Fete.

It was a very damp and miserable start with only a few attendees, but when the message went round that we were inside, and the rain eased, everyone came out to support us.

The Cake Stall swiftly sold out, the Tom Bola table quickly emptied,

Aunt Sally got underway and  the Skittles were played inside.

The youngster didn’t mind being outside on the Bouncy Castle, the Wellie Wangers

had a great time and lots of laughter and some frustration was

had with Swap the Balls Over game. We were please to see that KSSC Bowlers

took advantage of joining the queue for Hot Dogs and Burgers and

lots followed on with an Ice Cream.

It was a great event enjoyed by all who supported us.

Sunday Evening we all ate our Buffet together at 6pm in the Club.

At 7pm the Coventry District Association Committee

and those who had worked hard to make the meet such a success

presented a cheque for £1400.00 to

The Northampton and Warwickshire Air Ambulance representative

Tracey Wright and her son Jack.

Their followed “Fun and Games” in “The Pentathlon”.

It just leaves us to say a HUGE

To everyone who attended the meet,

who placed money into a collection tin, bought a Raffle ticket,

attempted to win a prize on the Tom bola, win a bottle in the auction,

knock Aunty Sally off her post, bowl all of the skittles over,

swap the balls, wang a welly, bounce on the castle, bought a cake, donated a cake,

bought a drink or burger or hot dog or even an ice cream.

Who donated a prize or their valuable time.

We are so very grateful to everyone who helped before during and after the meet,

the committee is only as strong as the team of people assisting behind us.

We would like to let everyone know that Transition donated £100,

the remainder of their fee, to the Air Ambulance, not only did they entertain us,

but they generously supported this wonderful cause. Thank you very much.

Finally thank you to Kineton Sports and Social Club for your hospitality

during the whole of the meet, especially

Mel Codd, Jane and Clive for organising and running the Pentathlon it put a perfect end to a wonderful weekend.
