Barnstones 30th September - 2nd October

Friday 30th September saw a sunny day for the opening of our annual visit to Barnstones Caravan Site near Banbury.

We received our usual warm welcome from the site owner David Boddinton.

The meet was very well supported with 25 units attending,

some old faces but also lots of new and returning ones,

which was good too see.

Most were members of Coventry D.A. We did however have members from as far afield as Durham and Central Yorkshire.

On the Saturday our old friend rain appeared, but this gave way eventually to sunny spells and the rain did nothing to dampen our spirits, with most people carrying on with their pursuits both on and off site.

On Saturday evening we had the use of the village hall for a fish and chip supper with games and laughter, which were in abundance. We raised over £30 for The D.A. charity whilst enjoying ourselves. However the laughs and camaraderie made it a special night.

Our Thanks to everyone who assisted in the setting up and clearing away  of tables and chairs at the beginning and end of the night.

On Sunday morning the sun once again appeared and continued for the rest of the day with several units taking advantage of David’s offers to stay as long as we wanted to enjoy the sunshine. Indeed some of the luckier ones camped on the Sunday night as well at his invitation.

We held our usual coffee morning where we were treated to home made cake as well as the usual, tea coffee and biscuits, where many old and new friendships were renewed and cemented.

Sadly the meet closed at 1200 hrs with many favourable comments from members as they said Good Bye, with lots of promises to join us at the THS at Brean Sands on the 21st October.
