The CDA’s annual fishing competition was well supported this year at the fantastic Makins Fishery at Bramcote near Nuneaton, Friday evening was spent chatting with a drink and friends at the stewards caravan. Saturday saw the start of the 2018 fishing match with a fiercely fought contest for the top places it was Trevor Sheasby who came out the winner with 47.25 lb of carp close second was Les Hoskins with 36.25 lb of carp and Mick Mullchrone with the heaviest fish weighing 5lb.3oz But most pleasing that every angler weighed in great nets of fish.
Saturday evening saw everybody have a social evening at the stewards van Becky & Dave Cole who I might add were brilliant hosts all weekend. Another great evening with the DA.
Sunday morning came and unfortunately our first aider Rob Hallam was needed as Michael Brown took a tumble and we later found out he needed an operation to repair his Hip/Femur . He is now on the mend, and all at the DA wish him well and a speedy recovery.
Coffee morning was well attended and the fishing trophies presented and also a bottle for the competition set by the stewards. Then 20 of us went for a superb Sunday Lunch at the onsite café. With nobody rushing home spending an afternoon enjoying the sunshine. Also many thanks to Lynn Hallam for the lovely photo’s which can be seen in the gallery section.
